dc.description1969 - Fisherman Sailing Home by Gunnar Nyland his lovely plate is 2nd in a series and quite hard to find. This series is based on the well known book "Nils Holgersson's Wonderful Journey in Sweden" by Nobel prize winning author Selma Lagerlof. Gunnar Nylund former Rorstrand chief designer and well known around the world for his work, interpreted Selma's work into drawings. The design on the rim of each plate has symbols related to the region depicted in the drawing. This plate depicts Nils guiding his fishing boat home towards a shining star in the sky. The rim depicts what could be sea urchins or stars.en_US
