1995 - The Mallards - Roal Copenhagen Nature's Children Series Plate
1995 - The Mallards (Gråand) is the third edition in the Annual Series Nature's Children produced by Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory. The Nature's Children series is a unique collection of six plates inspired by the tender bond between mother and her young in nature. Preceded by the Robins and The Fawn, the 1995 plate depicts a graceful Mallard family emerging from a flowery meadow to enjoy a leisurely swim. The Danish people have a respect for all creatures, great and small, and this beautiful series is a reflection of their true love of nature. Native to several areas of the world, the Mallard is the largest water fowl in Denmark. Both the speckled female and the colorful drake, distinguished by his gleaming dark green head, inhabit the many lakes and ponds in Denmark. Created by Jørgen Nielsen, this collection of six plates combines exacting full color detail with the sculptural drama of the famous blue relief technique. Size: 6½"
